Vinted Members Express Frustration About Size Updates
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.
This online marketplace has updated its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Response
Countless users and merchants are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.
The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services.
They have suggested members to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.
Size Classification Updates
Earlier, the measurements included one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
User Experiences
A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
Another shopper, located in England, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she said.
Platform Context
The app has more than 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
